Volunteering at Satsang Agnihotra Farm

Chile

Juan José Rodrigues and Karina Ohme (second and third from left) with volunteers at Satsang Agnihotra farm, Chile.

Satsang Agnihotra Farm is located in the hills of Curacavi Valley, in central Chile. It is approximately twenty-five miles from Santiago, close to the road that connects Santiago with Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. The farm covers about five acres.

In January, 2013, after ten years of searching and searching for the right place, I finally found this place. In March I moved in. From the very beginning, the idea was to create what Shree Vasant told, an Ark of Seeds and a Homa Farm that would be open to volunteers. And magically, the old owners left everything: ten beds, blankets, crockery, etc. It was perfect.

Juan José Rodrigues and myself live here, and we receive volunteers from different parts of the world. The volunteers, together with us, are working, learning, sharing and enjoying their stays at Satsang Agnihotra farm, a healthy, loving environment, saturated with the transformative energies of the healing HOMA fires.

We still do not consider ourselves to be a Homa Farm, because we do not get to do all the disciplines, particularly the four hours of Om Tryambakam Homa daily. We practice every day Agnihotra (except when we occasionally are out of the farm), and we teach Agnihotra to all the volunteers, who also perform Agnihotra during their stay here.

We produce mostly seeds. In 2003, when Shree came to Chile, he told everyone who went to His conference to create Arks of Seeds and Homa Farms. Since then, when I was living in Santiago, I started to select and keep organic and heirloom seeds.

Today, we plant different kinds of vegetables for our own use and for keeping seeds: different kinds of kale and lettuces, arugula, parsley, chicory, different kinds of tomatoes, red and green chard and pumpkin, among others. We also have different kinds of fruit trees and a beautiful native forest.

Juan Jose Rodrigues Fuentes also produces Gloria Homa Biosol, and does research with it. In October, Hector Rosas, president of the Fundación Quíntuple Sendero Chile, and Juan Jose Rodrigues are going to present a paper in the Primer Congreso Nacional de Agroecología in Pucon (south of Chile) about the Gloria Homa Biosol. [Gloria Homa Biosol is a liquid bio-fertilizer based on Agnihotra ash, which was developed by Gloria Guzman Mendez in Peru, South America. It is prepared under anaerobic conditions in a bio-digester. Biosol can be used as a foliar application to nourish plants or applied directly to the soil to rebuild soil health.–Ed.]

Building an Ark of Love and Service Together
Some of the activities in which volunteers can participate, depending on the time of year and their tastes and interests, are: the preparation of seeds and seedlings, planting, transplanting, construction of garden beds, preparation of compost, weeding, harvesting, and preparing jams, natural syrups, tomato sauce and canned peppers, among  others. They can also participate in pruning and weeding areas around streams, and in reforestation with native trees. Other activities are simple carpentry, such as the construction of greenhouses, beautification of the volunteers’ house, and creation of spaces for “edible gardens.”

With each new volunteer who participates at Satsang Farm, we feel that our deepest purpose is being revealed to us more and more, as well as the importance of creating these “Arks” throughout the world–spaces of re-encounter with Nature, with ourselves and with the sacred legacy of the Vedas, the Agnihotra.

Sharon, from Belgium writes:
“Before coming, I knew nothing about Agnihotra. It was my first experience and I like it a lot. I really think this is something for me, I would like to continue with that. Thanks for teaching it. But also, thanks for all the things that I’ve learned here, like drying cowdung, making compost, the biosol, to live with less Wi-Fi and more talking to people. I think that in my future, I would like to be like you [Karina and Juan]; I like this life so much–to eat organic and vegan / vegetarian, so have much respect for the Nature, the Agnihotra, everything!

From left, volunteer Sharon from Belgium, Juan, and Antoine from France.

“These were my last two weeks in Chile, and they were also some of the best. I’m so happy that I could come here!”

Antonie, from France, writes:
“When I arrived, I was surprised by the place for being like a hidden place, the greatness of the land and the simplicity with which you live–simplicity in a good way. To be honest, I was a little scared with the fifteen minutes of internet per day, but I learned to fill my days with observation and listening. I’ve learned super things, about the vegetable garden, the forest and especially about Agnihotra.”

Baptiste

Baptiste, from France, writes:
“This is my first experience in meditation and vegetarian and organic food, and I love it.”

Jacob and Iratxe

Iratxe and Jacob from Spain, write:
“Finding you has enlivened our faith in humanity. We run away searching for conscience, we travel looking for it and  six days before returning to our lives, we found and understood its true meaning: HERE.

“Thanks for sharing EVERYTHING you are. These days have been for us a gift from the Universe: to reconnect, to find new connections, to discover, to experience, to eat. Another alternative way of life, different from the one we are forced to live, is possible. Thank you for contributing to the path of this form of life, with which we feel identified and to which, experience after experience, transformation after transformation, unlearning after unlearning … we will arrive. You are already part of our trip.”

We are deeply grateful for the beautiful experiences we have with each volunteer–their teachings, learning, joys and friendship. Thank you!

Scientific Aspects of Agnihotra: Animals – Bees (Part 15)

Dr. Ulrich Berk
Germany

In agriculture, there are three helpers from the animal kingdom. First helper is the cow. Without cows, organic farming is difficult and Homa Organic Farming is not possible. Then we have the bees and the earthworms. About cows we already have talked, so let us now concentrate on the role of bees in agriculture and all Nature.

Of course honey bees are important for producing honey, which is a very nutritious substance and also has a lot of healing applications. Even more important though is the role of bees in pollination. About three-quarters of our crops are pollinated by bees and other insects. These crops would produce fewer flowers and fruits without this pollination. Around one-third of our food crops would produce significantly less or no food at all without pollination. Bees are the most important pollinators.

Especially in the last decade, honey bees have been dying on a mass scale in all parts of the world. Reasons are not scientifically clearly examined, but most likely it is a combination of different factors, such as monoculture, pesticides, varroa mite, ecological stress (e.g. because of climate change), and loss of natural habitats (especially for the wild bees). In agricultural areas where Homa Therapy is applied, a healthy and pure atmosphere is created, quite favorable as a habitat for bees. Bees adapt easily in a Homa environment and they can develop without attack of pathogenic agents. They have a lot of food available, due to the continuous flowering of the crops, with a high content of nectar and propolis achieved through the effect of Homa Therapy and the Agnihotra ash. This makes the whole Homa area a highly favourable place. Add to this the availability of clean water and the healing energy generated by the Homa fires.

The work of the Homa farmer is complemented by the work of the bees. They contribute to agriculture with the pollination of fruit crops, horticulture, in forestry in general and also to cattle and dairy farming by pollinating the pastures. They also produce honeycombs containing high quality honey, pollen, wax, propolis and royal jelly, categorized as food and medicine through the Homa Therapy effects. The Homa farmer and the bees work together with nature, the bees doing their prodigious work to aid the preservation of the plant kingdom.

Beekeeper Rory Maher helps keep the honey bees in Homa atmosphere.

Rory Maher, a longtime resident of Bhrugu Aranya, an Ecovillage and Homa Therapy Centre in southern Poland, made the following observations on beekeeping in the Homa atmosphere of this place:

“Homa beekeeping offers a solution to the tragic decline of the honey bee around the world. In Homa beekeeping, there is a major emphasis on healing the environment by using the ancient Vedic science of bio-resonance, known as Homa Therapy. We are therefore able to create the perfect landscape for bees to thrive.

“We have observed that Homa bees have strong immune systems. This is due to various reasons. Firstly, the healing effects of Agnihotra on the environment means bees are able to forage from high-quality flowers and trees free of harmful substances. Normally bees collect pollen and nectar from flowers which are toxic due to the use of herbicides, insecticides and fungicides in conventional farming. This, combined with atmospheric pollution, weakens the bees’ immune systems, leaving them susceptible to diseases. Tests on wax comb are further showing higher levels of agrochemical buildup in the wax, caused by foraging bees bringing in contaminated pollen and nectar. This creates an unhealthy environment within the hive and disrupts the beneficial microbe balance that bees need for optimum health. This may also explain the increasing number of queen losses beekeepers have been experiencing in recent years. Not so in Homa atmosphere.

“Secondly, scientific tests have shown that Agnihotra reduces the levels of pathogenic bacteria in the vicinity. This means there is a lower incidence of bee diseases and plagues. So, just by performing Agnihotra near bee hives, they become stronger and more efficient.

“In addition, the healing vibration of the Agnihotra fire becomes locked in the resultant ash. In Homa Beekeeping, this ash can be sprinkled around the beehives and entrances. Agnihotra ash can also be added to sources of water where bees drink. The ash and the vibrations created by Agnihotra fire have an energizing effect on the bees, making them strong and resistant to any disease that might occur.

Beehives in winter at Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya.

“In Homa Beekeeping only natural treatments are allowed and no chemicals should be used in the landscape or within the hive. Even if bees forage from areas where conventional farming methods are used, the creation of a Homa atmosphere and use of Agnihotra ash can strengthen bees and neutralize the negative effects of agrochemicals. Homa Therapy applications can also help reduce varroa mite populations that have been decimating bee colonies in Europe and the Americas.

“Many conventional beekeepers have experienced low honey harvest yields because flowers are not producing nectar as in previous years. This is probably due to pollution that disrupts the delicate balance of nature. In a Homa atmosphere, nature becomes rejuvenated and flowers produce plentiful nectar, leading to bountiful harvests. In Homa Beekeeping we are able to harvest high quality medicinal honey, propolis, and beeswax, free of contaminants. The honey bee also has a remarkable effect on the productivity of vegetables, fruits, nuts and herbs. Homa Beekeeping promotes organic and bee-friendly practices that reduce stress on the bees and support as much as possible the natural tendencies of the hive.“

Besides honey bees, also other insects are doing the work of pollination. Most important are bumblebees and wild bees. Wild bees are an indicator of healthy environments as they choose the place where to settle down. It is very astonishing to see that at the Homa Farm Tapovan  (near Dhule, Maharashtra, India) on an area of just 6 hectares, more than 25 natural hives of wild bees can be found!
Wild bees at Tapovan Homa farm.

Nobody ever brought them to the farm. They are attracted by the lush green gardens, many trees and flowers, all over the farm, providing an ideal environment for them. Bruce Johnson from Tapovan sent this photo showing wild bees which settled down in Tapovan to create their hives in the trees and produce good Homa honey.

Bees in Homa Atmosphere – what does ancient Vedic knowledge say?
So far we reported about observations of bees in Homa atmosphere. Scientific examination of these places – including analysis of honey, wax, and bees’ health – are in the planning stage. Next step will be to have bees from the same origin and place them partly in Homa atmosphere, partly in some other place away from Homa but otherwise in similar conditions, and then check quantity and quality of honey production, health of bees, growth of the beehives, etc. Such studies will give an overview of how Homa Farming techniques can help to restore health of bees, and thus help in bringing Nature back to harmony. More interesting studies for apiculture scientists could happen if they would look into what Vedic knowledge says about bees in Homa atmosphere:

“Inborn in the honey bee are certain hormones that are produced solely in YAJNYA atmosphere. This subject is foreign to anything science has encountered so far in this respect. These hormones help the nutritional levels yielded in vegetables and fruits to yield at much increased rates. Bees are attracted to HOMA atmosphere as the amount of energy they receive from Agnihotra fire helps them perform at a greater level of efficiency. When this is translated to pollination, they can help to increase the yield of crops. This is especially true with corn, tomatoes, berries, fruit and the like.”  (Vasant V. Paranjpe, Homa Therapy – Our Last Chance, Madison VA 1989, p. 39)

“Drone bees begin to change their sex within the hive. When this takes place they excrete a hormone which is extremely medicinal and can help cure many diseases. Long ago, bees produced this same substance which is described in the Vedas but those insects became extinct due to pollution and nonperformance of YAJNYA. This mutation in the genealogical structure of bees takes place only in YAJNYA atmosphere. Bees bearing this mutation thrive only in YAJNYA atmosphere.”  (Vasant V. Paranjpe, Homa Therapy – Our Last Chance, Madison VA 1989, p. 25)

That sounds like science fiction – still worthwhile to test, and if these statements can be validated by research of modern science, it would show the profound effect Homa Therapy has on how Nature works, if we take good care of her.

Mind Training, Release and Transformation

The following message from Shree Vasant was received by Parvati Rosen-Bizberg in meditation:

July 19, 2019 Shree Vasant
How short is life. One chooses to carry the heavy burdens of resentment, the gnawing of old fears, the jealousies, the envy, the longings and desires. Burdened by all these things, one still seeks freedom of liberation. But what one has to realize is one has to begin to consciously release one’s burdens. There is no other way.

To combat the sting of resentments one must cultivate an attitude of gratitude and practice radical forgiveness. Seek to be totally honest with yourself.

If you want to be totally free, you have to make total effort, to invite total transformation.

It is not done analytically, theoretically. Letting go of long-term resentments requires faith. It is not the other person whom you do not trust—it is you whom you do not trust.

Interesting. All you see in others which you find difficult to bear is often, if not always, a reflection of something similar within yourself.

Focus fully on training the mind.

June 15, 2019 On Guardians of the Light
Many changes due on this planet now. Be prepared.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

You are not alone.

There are guardians of the Light all around you.
At sacred places of fire, the energies are palpable.
Blessings to all keepers of the sacred flame.

We are humbly at your service, ORION.

June 16, 2019 On Living in Truth
Yes, yes. We are aware of the strategies being foisted upon the people of the world. Conspiracy theories rise and fall, nearly as swiftly as the crises unfold on this planet. Remain one-pointed.

Be aware. Be active when such interaction will be productive in creating change for the betterment of humanity, for healing the planet, for protecting endangered species, for protecting children and victims of crime. Do not remain silent, but LIVE IN TRUTH.

Balance the work with a lightness of being—music, art, time in Nature, time with each other, peaceful meditation, prayer and inner reflection.

DO NOT LIVE IN FEAR.

BE AWARE.

Then strengthen and fortify yourselves with diet, proper rest, healing herbs, and deepened meditations.

All of this is part of the plan.

Rise up and UNITE.

This is time for UNITY.

Light shall prevail. Of this, be certain.

In reverence,

We are
ORION

July 17, 2019 Rise Up!
Yes, yes. This is the time of the great divide. Those who are on the same team, UNITE. Set aside minor differences and support each other in the reunification of those who have carved their own path but whose hearts remain true to the One.

Dear ones, it is not the time to stoop to infighting, to self-righteous superiority or judgment. Seek to revel in the similarities between you and honor and respect your differences.

This is not a time for judging, nor of warring brother against brother, sister against sister.

Rise up as One, united in Peace, in Love and in Unity.

There are those who would seek to divide you in order to weaken your fibre, create doubts in the weakest link. Refuse to take sides against those whose aims are true.

Yes, know thine enemy.

Do not fear it.

Do not allow yourselves to become weakened in the face of it.

Resolute faith is what will be your sword as well as your shield.

These are the days which try human souls.

Move forward in Light.

He whom you follow knows in whom to place His trust.

Be comforted at times of sorrow. Rise up!

Be focused in times of wavering weakness. Rise up!

Unite in times of struggle. Rise up!

And take your places in the Light.

You are never alone.

Every voice is counted. OM.

Healing with Homa Therapy

Psychologist Paula Jaramillo
Armenia, Quindío
Colombia, South America

I have 2 daughters, a 17-year-old girl who is studying medicine and a 13-year-old girl. They are Sofia and Sara. They have two puppies. We recently went through an experience with one of the puppies that we took to vaccinate. That night we all slept peacefully. But the next day the puppy could not move, he was crawling only with the front legs. He could not use the back legs. When we saw this reaction, we did not know what to do. Since my daughter went to study, I was in charge and thought, my God, what can I do? I recorded a video at 12:55 P.M. to show the critical situation of the puppy.

Then I went to the vet who had applied the vaccine. He said that the puppy had some damage which has to do with his nervous system, that we have to stabilize him and give him medications. Afterwards I was supposed to take the puppy to the hospital to have an ultrasound and find out if any organs were atrophied.

When I heard all this, it seemed very complex, and I had no cash for the treatments. So, I called a friend who is also a veterinarian and he told me that it is likely that the vaccine had been injected into a tendon.

At first, I didn’t know what to do, but I got illuminated at once – HOMA THERAPY! I took him calmly home and prepared a large bowl of water with Agnihotra ash. The puppy drank a lot, a lot. He seemed to love that water. It was a miracle of God, because at 2:18 P.M., I recorded another video where the puppy is already playing and jumping with the other dog. We were so very happy.

That same day, later on, I cut myself with a knife very deep the thumb of my left hand. I immediately applied the Agnihotra ash and the bleeding stopped at once. By the afternoon, it was already healed, super easy.

Homa Therapy has worked wonders in my life and I am very happy. I feel very stable emotionally. Being a single mother demands a lot. There are many roles to assume – being a mother, working, being a provider, educator, and having career. I work on temporary contracts, etc. not having the stability of a permanent job. It is a constant stress generator.

In December, a friend invited me to experience Homa Therapy in BoticaSol, and I realized that that was the healing space I needed. The mantras seemed very familiar to me. The fire reminded me about happy childhood experiences with my grandmother in the countryside, where we also had a fire. I really liked the smell of cow dung and I milked the cows. I was very attracted to everything I was encountering with Homa Therapy. Everything was very familiar.

All experiences, exercises and techniques that I have found in BoticaSol through Homa Therapy have provoked an incredible change and transformation in my life. I am very grateful to you [Homa Therapy teachers Abel Hernandez and Aleta Macan] and Mrs. Dorita of BoticaSol for opening this space and for receiving me with a hug every day. Here I feel at home. I like to volunteer with Homa Therapy, because I have the time and desire. I feel very happy with Homa Therapy.

I came to know Homa Therapy through Abdo Quezada in Villavicencio. He was the first one to tell me about its benefits and that it was really a divine gift. At that time in my life, I was in a very difficult situation. I experienced a lot of darkness, a lot of confusion, a lot of illness and a lot of physical, mental and emotional imbalance.

A few years prior to this, I had suffered from black magic that affected me very much in all aspects of my health. I was about to go crazy because of my delicate nervous system. Doctors had recommended sleeping pills, but they were making me sicker in my mind, my brain, my cognitive capacity, my memory. I could not concentrate and I had many problems. I suffered from a quite significant mental deterioration.

Thanks to the healing Fires of Homa Therapy, I have been recovering. Homa Therapy improved my attention and mental deficits. In the emotional part, I find myself more positive and more harmonious.

I started practicing Agnihotra in 2016, but I resumed a more constant practice two months ago. I also take Agnihotra ash 3 times a day. I have been feeling a very fast recovery. Now I am strong, and I feel positive. I don’t get so tired. I am more active and more constant. Agnihotra has also helped me in my spiritual practice. I have a lot of faith in these Homa healing Fires.

I heard about Homa Therapy through my friend Carolina in Cali. Approximately a year and a half ago, we visited BoticaSol in Armenia where I purchased my own Agnihotra kit. I have 4 children. However, my relationship with my son was difficult. He will soon be 18 years old. We could not get along for a long time. He did not leave his room, and he talked very little.

But the first time I did Agnihotra in our home, he came and hugged me and stayed with me, sleeping in my room. I was very amazed.

Truly I am not so regular practicing Agnihotra, but I do know that it is magical. Everything else falls short compared to the transformative changes of Homa Therapy and more so, when one practices it with perseverance and discipline.

My friend Carolina does Agnihotra every day and her life has been transformed wonderfully.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

On Agnihotra
Agnihotra is merely a stepping stone in one’s spiritual development. Agnihotra prepares the mind for the dawning of higher knowledge. In enables the mind to be free, to be clear-thinking, by scientific methods as given through Vedas. It is so simple and the cost is minimal. You pay nothing except to purchase one copper pyramid-shaped pot. The supplies to be burned are very inexpensive and simple to obtain. Nothing is required This was given and shall always continue to be given. No money is ever to be charged to teach one Agnihotra. What other things you wish to teach, do so on your own, but Agnihotra is never to charged for under any circumstance. it is ours by Grace that we can share with others.

Actually, the essential ingredients of Agnihotra are cowdung, ghee, and some grain. The grain chosen in this case was rice because of its chemical protein structure and its availability….Also for optimum effect, the pyramid shaped copper pot is essential.

There is such a turbulence of energies that come exactly at Agnihotra time that nothing should be done to disturb the movement of those energies. This is why one should not blow on the fire. Also, some things with the breath may disturb the purity of the energy that is created at that time. If there is bacteria in the mouth, for instance, and one blows it into the fire, it spreads. So this sort of thing should be avoided.

AGNIHOTRA WILL AMPLIFY THE EFFECTS OF MUSIC AS THERAPY. Agnihotra acts as a catalyst to boost the effects in the atmosphere.

Agnihotra has such a good immediate effect on children. They stand to gain so much by it. They are less concentrated than adults, and therefore it is easier to see the effect of Agnihotra on a child. In that way they are like plants, more simple than some of us.

On Meditation
In your meditations when you have questions, answers will come. You cannot expect, however, to sit down and receive an answer one day because for that one time you have meditated. You must train and relax the mind to a certain point by meditating regularly every day. Then automatically you become attuned to another energy cycle and receive higher knowledge through subtle channels.

The key is not to meditate deeply once a week but to observe strictly, exactly all meditation timings each day. Most people find it difficult to free their minds in order to attain some ‘higher states’ during meditations. This, although it may be a benefit, should not be a goal in meditating. Goals should be relaxing, training the mind to be better able to absorb the tension placed upon it by outside sources–for example, pollution.

On Silence
If you keep silence more, you will come to know you can effectively respond to situations in a calm, eased manner. Silence helps to turn thoughts inward and you momentarily take pressure off the mind.

It is a time of concentrating and practicing Mantra. It is an extremely useful tool. Keeping silence for just a few hours every morning can set the whole mood in a correct balance for the day. This does not mean that no outside tensions will be there. Of course, they are going to be there no matter where you go, alone or with others. But practice of minimum silence in mornings is going to serve as an aid in coping with these day-to-day affairs.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

  1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
    2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
    3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
    4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self purification.
    5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.
This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
