On Oct 3, 2019, we visited a school at Bilwari village run by an organization Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta Shakti Peeth, Kendra Kurukshetra. They have more than eighty students. The group focuses on social and spiritual development along with education.
Farmers from villages near Dewas, Madhya Pradesh State area visited us to learn Homa Farming. The visit was organized by CARD, an NGO which works in that area, working in the fields of social and agricultural development. Agnihotra and the importance of Homa Therapy were demonstrated to the farmers.
Farmers also learned about ‘Prakriti Vana- Nature’s Forest,’ which can be easily implemented at the village level. CARD representative Shri. Ankit Mathur was very supportive of the idea and agreed to provide the necessary resources.
Shanti Yoga Ashram Community Visits Madison Homa Community
–Ed.
On October 19th, 2019 ten visitors from the Shanti Yoga Ashram in Bethesda, Maryland came to spend the day in the Madison, Virginia Homa community. Agnihotra has been performed at Shanti Yoga for many years, so we were especially happy to strengthen and renew the bond between our two communities.
Unlike many ashrams, Shanti Yoga is located in a busy urban area. Founded by the late Victor (Vyasa) Landa in 1983 as the Shanti Yoga Center for Harmony, it has offered classes and programs, and later expanded into the School of Life. The ashram has a core group of six residents who serve its many visitors through a wide array of classes and services to help people integrate health and peace into daily life. Programs include such topics as yoga, aromatherapy, introduction to Ayurveda, homeopathy and gardening.
Upon arrival, we read in unison some blessings brought by Shanti Yoga members. A delicious vegetarian potluck lunch followed. After the meal, everyone participated in a lively question-and-answer session on Agnihotra . The importance of using exact timings to the second was stressed.
Next, Richard Powers led the group on a walk to White Oak Lake, for some peaceful time in Nature.
Finally, the group assembled at the Parama Dham Fire Temple for meditation and evening Agnihotra.
Heartfelt thanks to Laxmi and Durga for organizing the visit. We look forward to seeing the Shanti Yoga group again!
Podcast on Agnihotra and Science
Ed.
(Fivefold Path, Inc. and the international network of Homa Therapy centers of which we are a part, teach Agnihotra as a science with benefits body, mind and environment, and are not affiliated with any religious body. Agnihotra is open to all regardless of religion or lack thereof. Agnihotra comes from Vedas; Vedic knowledge existed long before religions and cultures, and is the common inheritance of mankind.)
A podcast on scientific research on Agnihotra was recently featured at hinduvoices.com. Dr. Ulrich Berk, who has been involved in most of the scientific research on Agnihotra over the years, was interviewed by Hindu Voices host Subodh Cothran. Deepest thanks to Hindu Voices for allowing us to share this information with a wider audience.

Scientific Aspects of Agnihotra: Animals–Fish (Part 17)
By Dr. Ulrich Berk
Germany
Agnihotra and Homa Therapy have a profound effect on all Nature, bringing it back to harmony. This also means there will be beneficial effects in the animal kingdom. So far we have concentrated on the farmer’s three best friends: cows, bees and earthworms, as these play a crucial role in agriculture (and that also means for feeding all of us). Now let us have a look at several studies which were made on the effects of Agnihotra and Agnihotra ash on fish.
Fish in aquariums
The first such study was done a long time back in Poland, still in the communist time. It seems normal that when fish are put in a new aquarium – a new environment – a substantial percentage dies because of that change. This is a problem especially for shops dealing with ornamental fish; each time a new delivery comes, there is some loss. Dr. Ustrzycki, a physicist from Rzeszow in Southern Poland, learnt about this problem and carried out a simple experiment. He measured the mortality of fish when put in another aquarium, comparing three different methods for reducing the loss:
1. Agnihotra was performed in the room (but no Agnihotra ash added – only the effects of Agnihotra in terms of physics should be examined, not any chemical effects).
2. Conventional medicine which is usually applied in this situation.
3. Bioenergetic treatment – a trained person sending healing energies.
The following graph shows the result (percentage refers to fish surviving):
Clearly it can be seen that performing Agnihotra leads to a much smaller loss than the other two methods used. It would be interesting to see what happens if additionally Agnihotra ash would be added to the water. There are a lot of reports also from people who keep fish in aquariums at home. Results are less mortality and also water quality is much improved.
Toxicological studies
Industrial effluents are often quite toxic – sometimes to the extent that biotic life is no longer possible, that fish cannot survive in that environment.
In 2000 a study was made in Mumbai on the effect of Agnihotra ash on water and biotic life when industrial effluent from textile process industry was present in the water. Different concentrations of effluents were prepared. Ash dose was given and fish were kept under observation for 48 hours.
–Biotic life was absent in 15% effluent.
–But if 0.5 g of Agnihotra ash per litre was added to the concentration of 15% effluent, biotic life was possible again.
–For a concentration of 20% effluent 2 g/litre Agnihotra Ash had to be added in order to make biotic life possible.
This shows that Agnihotra Ash helps fish to survive even in highly polluted environments.
Healing of fish with Agnihotra ash
At Holkar Science College in Indore, India, a Master Thesis was completed comparing the effects of Agnihotra ash and conventional medicine on diseased fish. Goldfish with white spot disease (caused by the protozoan parasite ichthyophthirius multifiliis) were divided into two groups of eight fish each and put separately in two identical aquariums. Water quality was the same in both aquariums, also shape, quantity and quality of water plants was the same.(Megha Kale, APPLICATION OF AGNIHOTRA ASH AS INNOVATIVE THERAPY IN SKIN WOUND HEALING IN GOLDFISH, thesis submitted as partial fulfillment for the degree “MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY IN ZOOLOGY” at Govt. Holkar Science College Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.)
A) The first group was treated with Agnihotra ash only. One teaspoon of Agnihotra ashwas added to the water every day.
B) Second group was treated with NaCl and Copper sulfate (which is the common
treatment for this kind of disease).
Both groups of fish were fed the same food supplement. Also environment (temperature, light, etc.) was kept the same.
Behavioral studies:
Fish in aquarium A were healthy and showing normal swimming movement. However, the fish in aquarium B were weaker.
Health recovery
After 60 days 80% of the fish in group A (treated with Agnihotra ash) had fully recovered.
Only 65% of the fish in group B had recovered after 60 days.
The following graph shows details over the whole experimental period:
Analysis of Agnihotra ash:
How does this healing of the white spot disease come about? An analysis showed that Agnihotra ash contains all the trace elements which are required for wound healing in skin of goldfish. The appropriate combination and utilization of metal/trace elements present in the Agnihotra ash make a constituent in metalloenzymes. Ash contents provide almost all metals required in healing cascade.
It would be good if this experiment could be repeated with the following changes:
A) Also comparing whether Control Ash (which you get by burning the same ingredients as used for Agnihotra but without the disciplines of Agnihotra) has some effect also, and if so, how does it compare to Agnihotra ash.
B) In addition to using Agnihotra ash, also perform Agnihotra next to the aquarium. Then of course the control should be kept ideally at least three kilometres away. Always the healing effect is best if both Agnihotra ash is taken and Agnihotra is also performed.
There are not many studies regarding animals other than the farmer’s three best friends (cows, bees, and earthworms) and fish. Some results about miscellaneous animals were reported in the previous article on biodiversity.

October 6, 2019 On Capacity for Compassion
Yes, yes. The capacity for compassion is what marks one’s character. If one is only able
to see from his/her own point of view, that capacity for compassion becomes limited. One
has one’s natural inclinations. Add to that, societal mores, familial moral standards, and
the opinions of others—and one’s opinion-based foundation is created, cemented by
one’s own fears and anxieties.
As one begins to evolve, this crusty foundation begins to crumble and one’s true essence
rises to the top. The unique individual one is becomes intermeshed with one’s highest
potential to SERVE and act as a vessel for the upliftment and evolution of others.
As one’s opinions are released, the dogma is shed, and one’s capacity for compassion
expands. That is when one’s very presence can be like a healing oasis for others seeking
solace in today’s complex, chaotic world.
Then, to continue to SERVE in such capacity becomes one’s vessel or vehicle to transport
one into higher realms of understanding and ultimately into higher consciousness.
Yes, one need not have an aim, for that may often create an expectation. Instead, develop
quietly an intention, based purely upon the willingness to seek the Truth and to reflect that
truth in one’s life.
Not every human being is to teach others, via words, write books, deliver sermons or
create training programs. Some may simply walk through life, carrying within them that
sharpened sense of intuition, enhanced by simple kindness and adherence to Truth. That
human being is often more powerful than the grand, revered teachers of old. One can
simply affect those around one with simplicity and Grace. Those whose hearts are steeped in true compassion do not see it within themselves, even. They simply radiate it.
OM.
October 8, 2019 On Overcoming Fear and Discovering Higher Purpose
Yes, yes. We can address the role one’s fears take in one’s life. Each human being has
some level of fear, like a built-in component that does in no way enhance the functioning
of the being. Whether one’s fears are learned, as from childhood traumas, or genetic
transferal, or whether they stem from past lives or are the by-product of one’s cultural
orientation—all humans have some fears.
The healthy organism, mind and body in balance, generally speaking, learns to
compensate for one’s weaknesses and enhance one’s strengths. One is thereby able to
avoid the trap of the fear-laden valley. One acknowledges one’s fears and redirects the
focus to a more positive direction. This is not avoidance, but a coping skill that serves one
well, as one progresses on one’s path in life.
It is when one is not able to manifest healthy coping mechanisms in order to redirect one’s
fears, that one’s fears begin to grow, often multiplying like errant toxic cells, manifesting
ultimately in mental/emotional disorders.
It is at that point where one must begin to look within to finally discover one’s inner
strength, with which one can slowly but surely dismantle the barriers to openly
experiencing life fully.
A gifted healer can assist others in the soul-searching process, though true healers are
hard to find.
No substance, no pill, no drug will suffice to replace going within to uncover and
discover one’s true self and unite with one’s Higher purpose in this life.
Yes, yes. One can postpone it indefinitely, choosing instead to seek momentary solace in
outer distractions, entertainment, and manifestations of ego. However, there will come a
time when the soul reaches its limit of patience with the wayward personality and
begins to call louder, stronger, even if it must manifest a life-threatening illness or
non-negotiable thought form in order to get one’s attention, to redirect it inward.
Best always not to put off for tomorrow what can be done today.
And these are the very times when one’s evolution is being speeded up.
Take heart, dear ones. Go within.
Now is the time.
Here exactly where you are is the place.
Blessings truly abound.
We are,
ORION.

Healing with Homa Therapy
Helen Perala
California, U.S.A.
I started Agnihotra in August this year. For starters, I gave up Marijuana for the first time in nine years or so. What a blessing that is. I have found that the DAILY twice a day PRACTICE of AGNIHOTRA has somehow given me a better ATTITUDE and OUTLOOK in general. Because I have to be up early to do it and then keep to an evening timing as well, my day seems to structure itself better. It is the DISCIPLINE that I so badly needed. Of course I have done a heap of work on myself personally over the years, but whilst I was still smoking it didn’t seem to make a huge difference. I only half believed it when people said that Agnihotra helped with addictions (as I could not see HOW)… but 3 months after practicing it regularly (I haven’t missed more than about four times), I am finding a new optimism suffusing my life and a new inner contentment I hadn’t felt before. It has brought back my WILL TO LIVE a purposeful life.
I can say the other things I have noticed may or may not be concordant with the beginning of this ritual, but a nearby neighbor who we can see from our house used to have a very rundown property, and since I started Agnihotra they have completely redecorated their house!
I am also never alone when I do Agnihotra as the hummingbirds ALWAYS fly in when the fire is lit and swoop around me as if to thank me for lighting it. I think they enjoy the aroma as much as I do.
I am definitely happy with the way it seems to keep my FLOWERS going. I have a selection of flowers on the decking and even as winter approaches (which we barely recognize here in California as it’s still pretty warm), the flowers are still out and looking very happy, which ties in with what is said about the Agnihotra producing better flowers and fruits more than growth and leaves as such. So I am really pleased with that, as I love flowers so much.
The neighbors also seem to be happier, as we are having less ‘housing association issues’ compared to the past when we’ve had problems with some of the neighbors who have rather egoic attitudes at times.
More than anything, it has improved my general state of mind and therefore health. I am feeling much more uplifted. It has also gotten me learning to CHANT MANTRAS for the first time in my life, as I am someone with a Western background, so not used to doing this. I am writing this on a Full Moon in Taurus (12th November) and have just chanted 108 times to celebrate. I would never have thought to do anything like this in the past but the Agnihotra DISCIPLINE, I will call it, has encouraged me to deepen my spiritual side in a more profound way which is having such great benefits. I wonder what will happen if I continue for years not just months? I can only imagine!
The idea that I am benefiting the environment by purifying its atmosphere is just such a helpful feeling deep inside. It makes every day a blessing. I do not feel so alone and sad about the condition of this world, now that I am actively assisting it in this way.
Agnihotra is inspiring me to exercise more, I have noticed that.
I thoroughly enjoy doing the fires and do not expect to stop any time soon. My husband is very happy with it, especially as now I feel like cleaning and decorating the house from top to bottom! That will be a first for me, but I am experiencing a lot more energy and feel I can be more proactive finally. I am amazed the impact it has had on my life thus far. Agnihotra is what I would call the most beneficial addiction to have!
Dr. Jaime Montufar
Homa Medical Center El Buen Pastor
Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America
We are here with patient Javier Peñafiel and his wife Liz. The husband had degenerative arthritis; it just appeared a year before he came. He had been to 12 doctors and I was the 13th to serve him. He has made great progress with his health with the constant practice of Homa Therapy. His life has changed completely. He even has a different expression and different thoughts. He got closer to nature. In addition to the daily practice of Agnihotra, he also practices Om Tryambakam Homa.
Javier Peñafiel:
Up to the 6th doctor, all experts in conventional medicine, no one could not give me a diagnosis. The 6th doctor ordered all exams to be done in the U.S. and from there they sent me the diagnosis that degenerative arthritis was in my DNA, which means it is congenital.
It is not hereditary; I was born with it. Conventional medicine has no cure for this disease. Medications for the symptoms have serious side effects. The pain I had was so strong and constant that it made me bad-humored and explosive. I was bedridden and couldn’t move. It hurt to be up, to be lying down and after 10 minutes it also hurt to be still.
Today I came driving in my car. Before I couldn’t drive, not even sign a check, or write. Before they carried me to go down the stairs. Now my fingers can move perfectly. My feet can also move and can support me. Before, this was super difficult and painful. The pain was expressed in my face.
At breakfast, I had a cocktail of 7 pills, I had 14 at lunch and again 9 pills in the afternoon, from Monday to Monday. I suffered from gastritis. My kidneys were affected. I urinated every 5 to 10 minutes and I couldn’t hold it, I had to run … I woke up at night more than 100 times, I couldn’t sleep. Thank God, we have a family business and I could stay in bed during most of the day. I couldn’t keep up regular activities.
I took these medications for about three months. Since I like to read and investigate, I realized how these negatively affected me with some side effects, such as chemical depression and anxiety. If I continued taking them, I could have diabetes, tuberculosis, etc. and in an extreme case, even a stroke.
Just two years ago this arthritis had begun to manifest; it was in my DNA, but dormant. Stress, bacteria, etc. could have activated it.
Now, I have been one year with Dr. Montufar and Homa Therapy and I am renewed. Actually, Homa Therapy is something very wonderful and the benefits that Homa Therapy produces are indescribable. The first time I did it, I had some concern; I wasn’t so sure about its effects. But when I was doing Agnihotra at the doctor’s clinic, I felt good and then when I got home, the pain started again. To get to the doctor I had to travel 50 minutes but I told my wife to take me. Even though I was upset, kicking, hysterical, insulting, I wanted to come because I felt good here, with peace. Now I value peace so much, peace is something gigantic.
In the second week with Agnihotra, my symptoms of depression and anxiety went away. It was very fast. It didn’t matter if I was here at the clinic; I could also be in my house, quiet and peaceful. And little by little, I started taking on my activities again.
Liz comments:
From the first day, we felt a peace with Agnihotra. My husband had a lot of faith in getting healing. In one week only, he changed. He had been very bad-tempered, irritable and there was no way to communicate with him. He was tired all day long. The children did not even approach him anymore, in order not to disturb him. My husband had been such an active person and seeing him bedridden with depression, not wanting anything, was painful. Upon arriving here, we starting feeling a peace, a tranquility, a light. And little by little, he was improving his character and became again more loving with the children. The children were very happy. We also became closer as a family. We felt again the warmth and the love of a family. More than anything, Homa Therapy not only helps in health, but in all areas, such as with the family, couple relationship, love for the children, at work, etc. Everything is flowing now and we even work together.
From Shree Vasant’s Teachings
Baptism of Fire is Agnihotra
“The vision about the evening and morning sacrifices which have been explained to you will come true. But keep it secret now because it will be a long time before it does come true.”–Daniel 8:26 Good News English Bible
Daniel was asked to keep it a secret, for a long time was to elapse before this particular vision would come true. Now the time has come when all the seals are broken open and knowledge spreads to all the people as the earth enters a new era. Now it will be a new race of children who will function with more ease with the so-called sixth sense becoming manifest. When the seals put on ancient wisdom are broken open it is the scientist who will first come to know that his knowledge is very limited and that he can draw on this ancient wisdom and benefit all creation.
Vedas is the ancientmost body of knowledge known to man and this knowledge is the common heritage of all races on the planet whether they be white, black, brown, yellow or red. Vedas should not be associated with any sectarian religious label like Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. All prophets come to reiterate the basic scientific knowledge given through the Vedas to enable man to live in peace and prosperity. No scriptures contradict each other. They are to be interpreted considering the conditions and circumstances in which they were revealed to various avatars and prophets.
“He hath revealed unto thee (Mohammed) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was revealed before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.” –Holy Quran III, 3
We have entered a new era. Daniel’s prophecy has come true. The morning and evening sacrifice is AGNIHOTRA, the smallest form of Yajnya, the process of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of fire based on one biorhythm. Agnihotra leads to purification of the mind and takes us to the state mentioned in the Bible as “renewal” of the mind. Renewing the mind means making it pure and, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Only with such a cultured mind one can reach the state, “Not my will but Thy Will be done.” This is the aim of Fivefold Path.
It appears, however, that it will be the scientist of the West who will be and who is more interested in examining Daniel’s prophecy by methods of experimental science. If only the churches of all religions become open to knowledge like the Western scientist, they will be able to benefit mankind even while they choose to insist upon looking through their own windows. The scientist has nothing to lose but his ignorance while the churches of all religions stand to lose their dogma. Western scientists have taken much interest in Agnihotra.
Only through science will mankind be able to reach the Kingdom of Heaven which is within. Only through science we will take to scientific ways to train the mind to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
It is the Divine Will that the message of love goes through the avenues of science. This is why Agnihotra is spreading so rapidly all over the world.
Fivefold Path for Happy Living
1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.
This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
